Highlights from the Collection
The University of Maryland Art Gallery is home to one of the Big Ten’s finest permanent collections of art and cultural heritage objects. Spanning from antiquity to the present day, our collection showcases the marvels of artistic and human inquiry.
Each year, Art Gallery staff carefully select standout works that reflect both the richness of global traditions and the evolution of creative expression. From paintings by Andy Warhol to African art to ancient Chinese and Korean vessels, Highlights from the Collection is an ongoing presentation of the most significant objects in our care—works that invite visitors to connect with the past and discover new perspectives.
Summer Notice: Between July 10 - September 16, the Art Gallery will be open by appointment or based on staff availability only. This means visitors are encouraged to schedule their visit in advance to ensure access, as regular public hours may be limited due to summer staffing. To make an appointment or inquire about availability, please email artgallery@umd.edu.
