Visiting Artist Lecture/Project: Rachel Hayes

This year's Visiting Artist Lecture/Project (VAL/P) participant is Oklahoma-based artist Rachel Hayes, a Tulsa Artist Fellow and recipient of the 2016 Joan Mitchell Foundation Award for Painters and Sculptors. Hayes will deliver a lecture, as well as conduct student studio visits and tour the UMD campus in order to identify potential sites for a student-centric, site-specific artwork that will be installed in spring of 2018. VAL/P is supported in part by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. Date: October 25, 2017 Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Location: University of Maryland Art Gallery Admission: Free
